Who We Are
In quorum memoria
The intent for this organization is to serve as a central location for historians, family members of veterans, and anyone else interested in the battle to come and find educational resources, untold stories, and artifacts from both the battle and the veterans who fought in it. We are three historians with decades of combined experience researching, writing about, and exploring the island of Peleliu.
“Until the millennium arrives and countries cease trying to enslave others, it will be necessary to accept one's responsibilities and be willing to make sacrifices for one's country - as my comrades did. As the troops used to say, "If the country is good enough to live in, it's good enough to fight for." With privilege goes responsibility.”
― E.B. Sledge, With the Old Breed: At Peleliu and Okinawa
We are here to honor the men who took on those responsibilities and made those sacrifices, to ensure that their sacrifice never becomes lost to time. There is a responsibility that all of us, and future generations, must take on to ensure that the example that past generations have set is remembered, honored, and emulated in everyday life. Our posts will encompass all fighting and operations between Peleliu, Angaur, and the surrounding islands done by the United States Marine Corps, Navy, Coast Guard, and Army. Please contact us for any questions regarding the battle, both general and personal, and we will do our best to get back to you as soon as we can with accurate information. Thank you for visiting, and enjoy.
