Corporal Edward H. Frincke

Edward H Frincke was born to Otto Frincke and Ella Miller on December 1st, 1920, the 5th of 6 children. After completing his schooling he went to work for Dixon & Ryan Precision tools in Royal Oak, MI.


He answered his country’s call in March of 1942 and was assigned to HQ Company, 1st Battalion, 7th Marines in time to land at Guadalcanal where he was apart of the CP in the communications section.


PFC Frincke escaped Guadalcanal unscathed and proceeded to land at Cape Gloucester as a Radio operator in the Battalion CP. His skills were recognized and he was eventually made the personal radio operator for Major Waite W. Worden, Battalion XO in time for the landings at Peleliu. While on Peleliu with 1/7 Frincke captured this Japanese helmet and a sword which still resides with his family.



Frincke survived the war unscathed and returned home to Royal Oak where he worked at Precision Tools & Repair, eventually becoming the President of the company.



Frincke and his wife Jean had 4 children and he passed away peacefully in Southfield, Michigan on January 25th, 2008 at the age of 87.
